Lars har glædet sig til at se, hvem der er flyttet ind i nabohuset. Da han kommer til at sparke sin fodbold ind i naboens have, møder han den nye dreng, Mads, der står og spiser en flødebolle. Han er desværre slet ikke lige så sød, som Lars har håbet. Han kalder Lars for en idiot, og han gider ikke engang spille fodbold. Hvorfor er Mads så led ved Lars, og kan man mon gøre noget for at få ham til at opføre sig bedre?Den danske forfatter Poul Larsen (f. 1940) er oprindeligt uddannet kontorassistent og efterfølgende folkeskolelærer – et job, som han bestred i 30 år, før han for alvor vendt sin opmærksomhed mod forfattergerningen. Poul Larsen fik sin litterære debut i 1972 med digtsamlingen "Bare Digte" og har levet af at skrive siden 1995, hvor han stoppede som folkeskolelærer.
