Nel 1883, dopo averlo pubblicato a puntate sul Giornale per i bambini, dà alle stampe il suo capolavoro, "Le avventure di Pinocchio". Tradotto in più di trecento lingue, "Pinocchio" è anche l’opera italiana più letta al mondo, nonché il libro più tradotto di sempre dopo "Il piccolo principe" di Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.
