Europol er navnet på den Europæiske Unions politienhed, der ligger i Haag. Trine Thygesen Vendius kaster lys over oprettelsen af Europol i 1998 og det behov, det opstod på baggrund af, samt over enhedens centrale ansvarsområder og vigtigheden af samarbejdet med Europol for de enkelte landes politistyrker.
Trine Thygesen Vendius er ph.d. i jura fra Københavns Universitet og underviser på Niels Steensens Gymnasium.
