Tessa on teinityttö, jonka elämä ei ole ollut helppoa. Tessa on kasvanut nuorisokodissa, sillä hänen molemmat vanhempansa ovat kuolleet. Suru ja ahdistus purkautuvat pakonomaiseen juoksemiseen – juostessa pääsee omia ajatuksia pakoon. Kun Tessan elämään saapuu kiltti Antti, Tessan on vaikeaa päästää poikaa lähelleen. Iloa Tessan elämään tuovat myös ystävät Kasimir ja Linda.
Kirjailija Tittamari Marttinen (s.1968) on kirjoittanut erityisesti lasten- ja nuortenkirjoja. Hän on opiskellut yleistä kirjallisuustiedettä Helsingin yliopistossa.
